SmoKE

CANUE | SmoKESmoke RGB

The SmoKE project is a collaborative effort by CANUE, Health Canada, the Centre for Environmental Indigenous Resources, the BC Centre for Disease Control, and the First Nations Health Authority to create a web application offering real-time data on wildfire and biomass smoke exposure. The app will use geospatial data to help Indigenous, rural, and remote communities monitor air quality and implement effective health interventions. It will also feature a citizen science portal, educational resources, and community stories about adapting to smoke exposure.

The Smoke portal will be released in Spring 2025.
