permettent de demeurer actif, de rencontrer des amis et de profiter de la nature. Quant aux installations de loisirs comme les piscines, les patinoires, les pistes de course \u00e0 pied et les centres communautaires du quartier, elles permettent de participer \u00e0 des activit\u00e9s de groupe structur\u00e9es. Dans bien des cas, ces installations sont souvent gratuites, ce qui rend l\u2019activit\u00e9 physique plus \u00e9quitable pour les populations vuln\u00e9rables.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1b159e7 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"1b159e7\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;background_background&quot;:&quot;classic&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c360d8e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c360d8e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2>Quel est leur effet sur la sant\u00e9?<\/h2><p>L\u2019activit\u00e9 physique est l\u2019une des mesures les plus b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques pour la sant\u00e9 tout au long de la vie. En fait, l\u2019environnement b\u00e2ti des localit\u00e9s joue un r\u00f4le important sur la quantit\u00e9 d\u2019activit\u00e9 physique int\u00e9gr\u00e9e au quotidien.<\/p><p>Parmi les r\u00e9sultats positifs li\u00e9s \u00e0 de plus forts taux d\u2019activit\u00e9 physique, soulignons une diminution du risque de plus de 25\u00a0affections chroniques<a href=\"https:\/\/healthydesign.city\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/CSEP_PAGuidelines_0-65plus_en.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a>, y compris les maladies coronariennes, les accidents vasculaires c\u00e9r\u00e9braux, le cancer du sein, le cancer du c\u00f4lon, le diab\u00e8te de type\u00a02 et l\u2019ost\u00e9oporose. L\u2019activit\u00e9 physique a \u00e9galement des effets positifs sur la sant\u00e9 mentale. Elle peut am\u00e9liorer le sommeil, soulager le stress, l\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 et la d\u00e9pression et r\u00e9duire la d\u00e9pendance aux drogues et \u00e0 l\u2019alcool<a href=\"https:\/\/healthydesign.city\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/minding_our_bodies.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><sup>2<\/sup><\/a>. Elle favorise le fonctionnement cognitif chez les personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es et retarde l\u2019apparition de la d\u00e9mence. On estime<a href=\"https:\/\/healthydesign.city\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/h2012-061.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><sup>3<\/sup><\/a> que les co\u00fbts de l\u2019inactivit\u00e9 physique sur la sant\u00e9 repr\u00e9sentent 6,8\u00a0milliards de dollars pour le Canada chaque ann\u00e9e en raison du taux croissant des maladies chroniques.<\/p><p>Malheureusement, la plupart des Canadiennes et des Canadiens ne pratiquent pas les taux d\u2019activit\u00e9 physique n\u00e9cessaires pour demeurer en bonne sant\u00e9. Selon les directives nationales<a href=\"https:\/\/healthydesign.city\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/CSEP_PAGuidelines_0-65plus_en.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><sup>4<\/sup><\/a>, les adultes doivent faire 150\u00a0minutes d\u2019activit\u00e9 physique d\u2019intensit\u00e9 mod\u00e9r\u00e9e \u00e0 vigoureuse par semaine sur des p\u00e9riodes d\u2019au moins dix minutes pour en tirer les puissants effets b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques. De nombreuses personnes invoquent le manque de temps<a href=\"https:\/\/healthydesign.city\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/pip04.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><sup>5<\/sup><\/a> comme un obstacle majeur \u00e0 l\u2019activit\u00e9 physique.<\/p><p>Les parcs de quartier permettent d\u2019inclure plus de loisirs ext\u00e9rieurs au quotidien et de se connecter davantage avec la nature, ce qui a une profonde incidence sur la sant\u00e9 mentale et le bien-\u00eatre. Les personnes qui fr\u00e9quentent davantage les parcs urbains<a href=\"https:\/\/healthydesign.city\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/nihms575433.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><sup>6<\/sup><\/a> sont plus d\u00e9tendues, plus efficaces, moins frustr\u00e9es, plus confiantes et plus satisfaites.<\/p><p>Les exp\u00e9riences positives \u00e0 un jeune \u00e2ge sont cruciales. Les exp\u00e9riences de loisirs ext\u00e9rieurs pendant l\u2019enfance peuvent fa\u00e7onner le comportement tout au long de la vie. Si on s\u2019assure de la pr\u00e9sence de parcs et d\u2019autres exp\u00e9riences de loisirs ext\u00e9rieurs positives chez les tout-petits, on peut contribuer \u00e0 ce que les personnes tirent des avantages des loisirs ext\u00e9rieurs sur leur sant\u00e9 physique et mentale, de m\u00eame que des avantages sur leurs interactions sociales tout au long de leur vie<a href=\"https:\/\/healthydesign.city\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/fpsyg-10-00763.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><sup>7<\/sup><\/a>.<\/p><p>La pr\u00e9sence d\u2019espaces verts agr\u00e9ables encourage les habitants \u00e0 passer plus de temps dans la nature, ce qui favorise une meilleure sant\u00e9 mentale. Les personnes r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement expos\u00e9es \u00e0 la nature<a href=\"https:\/\/healthydesign.city\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/nihms575433-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><sup>8<\/sup><\/a> sont mieux en mesure de composer avec le stress, sont plus productives, moins frustr\u00e9es par le travail et ont une meilleure estime de soi et une meilleure satisfaction envers la vie. La pr\u00e9sence de v\u00e9g\u00e9tation \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 cr\u00e9e un espace pour se d\u00e9tendre et se remettre du stress de la vie citadine.<\/p><p>Les espaces verts contribuent \u00e0 une meilleure coh\u00e9sion sociale, \u00e0 une meilleure connexit\u00e9 et \u00e0 un plus grand sentiment d\u2019appartenance. Les personnes connect\u00e9es avec la nature se sentent moins isol\u00e9es<a href=\"https:\/\/healthydesign.city\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/ijerph-15-01238.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><sup>9<\/sup><\/a> et moins centr\u00e9es sur elles-m\u00eames parce qu\u2019elles peuvent interagir avec des membres de leur communaut\u00e9.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-55bd946 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"55bd946\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;background_background&quot;:&quot;classic&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2e4130b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2e4130b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2>Qui est touch\u00e9?<\/h2>\n<p>La verdure est reli\u00e9e \u00e0 de nombreux avantages pour la sant\u00e9, et les quartiers qui font la promotion de l\u2019activit\u00e9 physique sont b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques aux Canadiennes et Canadiens, mais ces caract\u00e9ristiques ne sont pas r\u00e9parties \u00e9quitablement. Les populations \u00e0 faible revenu de Vancouver, Montr\u00e9al et Toronto sont plus susceptibles de vivre dans des quartiers \u00e0 faible indice de verdure<a href=\"https:\/\/healthydesign.city\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-s2.0-S0160412020319589-main-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><sup>10<\/sup><\/a>, tandis que les populations au revenu \u00e9lev\u00e9 sont plus susceptibles de vivre dans des quartiers \u00e0 fort indice de couverture v\u00e9g\u00e9tale. Ce sont pourtant les populations \u00e0 faible revenu qui ont le plus \u00e0 gagner des espaces verts publics.<\/p>\n<p>Dans les quartiers sans espaces verts comme ceux fournis par les parcs, les populations \u00e0 faible revenu pr\u00e9sentent un taux de d\u00e9c\u00e8s toutes causes confondues plus prononc\u00e9 que leurs voisins au revenu plus \u00e9lev\u00e9, notamment \u00e0 cause des maladies cardiaques<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelancet.com\/journals\/lancet\/article\/PIIS0140-6736(08)61689-X\/fulltext\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><sup>11<\/sup><\/a>. En revanche, les quartiers plus expos\u00e9s aux espaces verts ne pr\u00e9sentent pas d\u2019\u00e9carts de mortalit\u00e9 aussi extr\u00eames<a href=\"https:\/\/healthydesign.city\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/backgroundfile-83421.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><sup>12<\/sup><\/a>. Les in\u00e9galit\u00e9s sur le plan du bien-\u00eatre mental sont moins marqu\u00e9es chez les citadines et citadins qui profitent d\u2019un bon acc\u00e8s aux espaces verts que chez ceux qui n\u2019y ont pas facilement acc\u00e8s<a href=\"https:\/\/healthydesign.city\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/BJPI-14-79a.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><sup>13<\/sup><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Les espaces verts peuvent \u00e9galement aider les populations vuln\u00e9rables \u00e0 mieux g\u00e9rer les transitions de la vie gr\u00e2ce aux espaces d\u2019interactions sociales concrets qu\u2019ils cr\u00e9ent. On conna\u00eet l\u2019importance des contacts sociaux pour la sant\u00e9 et le bien-\u00eatre<a href=\"https:\/\/healthydesign.city\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Werner-Seidler2017_Article_TheRelationshipBetweenSocialSu.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><sup>14<\/sup><\/a>, notamment chez les personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es qui vivent d\u2019importantes transitions et chez qui l\u2019isolement social peut accro\u00eetre le risque de d\u00e9c\u00e8s<a href=\"https:\/\/healthydesign.city\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/pone.0190033.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><sup>15<\/sup><\/a>. Les espaces verts peuvent att\u00e9nuer une partie des r\u00e9percussions n\u00e9gatives sur le bien-\u00eatre individuel.
